We track 5 Midea U-Shaped models, 8,000 BTU to 12,000 BTU. We have no live purchase link for any of them right now; links for model numbers named in a recall stay paused. Of these, 2 carry model numbers named in CPSC recall 25-320 (risk of mold exposure) and 1 listing gives no model number to check against it.

Transcribed from the notice, checked September 30, 2026.
Purchase links for these stay paused.
Not being listed is not a safety certification.
This listing does not state a model number, so we cannot tell whether the notice covers it. Check the label on the unit itself.
Check the model and serial labels on the unit against the official notice: a retailer title or a similar-looking product is not enough to establish whether a unit is covered. This check uses published US CPSC notices and is not a safety certification.
Smallest first. Figures are the ones each listing publishes; a blank is a figure it does not state.

Midea launched the U in April 2020 as a U-shaped inverter window air conditioner. Midea says the U shape lets the window open and close normally with the unit installed and keeps the operating and compressor noise outside.

The Midea U-Shaped models we track run from 8,000 BTU to 12,000 BTU: 8,000 BTU, 10,000 BTU and 12,000 BTU. Match the size to your room with the sizing calculator rather than picking the biggest one.
Among the 2 Midea U-Shaped models rated on the CEER scale, the 8,000 BTU MAW08U2QWT rates highest at CEER 16. A higher CEER means less electricity for the same cooling.
