We record each unit's price at every retailer once a day. A unit appears here only when its current, in-stock price is the lowest in our available history from the last 120 days for that seller AND it has genuinely trended down (confirmed over several days of our own tracking, not a single overnight change) by a meaningful margin (at least 5% and $20) off an earlier price we recorded. It is never an invented "sale" or a discount off a manufacturer list price.

Yes. The crossed-out price is a price the unit actually held for several days at that same retailer before this drop, the most recent such level above today's price, shown with the date. We deliberately do not use the single highest price we ever saw (a one-day spike would overstate the discount), and we never compare against a manufacturer's suggested retail price or a made-up original.
